Dear Daddy-O and K.___,
After a rocky beginning I
think I understand what you love so much about Savannah. After we refueled with
a Seattle-Style dose of caffeine we drove out to Bonaventure. I thought the
weather couldn't have been more cooperative (though it did cause Murray to
comment that she was, "Sweating more than a morning of
ZumbaWithIda.").
I wandered through the trees
that sagged with the weight of Spanish-Moss and time and listened to the
cicadas sound their warning call for a dark storm on the horizon. I wished
for the sky rain and wanted most to find the headstones that had been changed
by the bored soldiers in the Civil War. Instead, I found Gracie for you...She
says hello and hopes you’ll come visit her yourself really soon.
I
love you.
